Once you measure out all the components too, it shows how easily the fat portion rises quickly, even when I am really trying to keep all added fat to a minimum. (There’s more than enough in the food itself.)

Fruity Gluten Free Fruit Cake

 

A gluten free fruit cake recipe comes in handy because when eating for high metabolism, you will need to incorporate quite a bit of fruit.

Since I started reading and blogging about the Ray Peat way of eating – it’s been about 3 years now – my realisation is that 90% of people put on weight when they start eating this way.

(I did a survey on my One Ten Toned –Slimbirdy – Eating Peaty FB Group and the result was 88% with weight gain – so very close.)

Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream

I’ve flavoured up my low fat ice cream recipe to create chocolate peanut butter ice cream!

Normally I’m not a fan of chocolate ice cream, preferring real chocolate every time. But this time it’s different, somehow I’ve managed to get the intensity just right and the combo is bliss.

I’ve made it four times since the first time already! Just as well it’s super easy to make.

Potato Gluten Free Shortbread Cookies

Since I’ve discovered that heating nut flours like almond flour etc actually increases the oxidisation of PUFAs (poly unsaturated fatty acids) in them and kind of makes them toxic (eek!), you can understand why I’m not so keen to continue making up recipes with these nutty flours in it. These Potato Gluten Free Shortbread Cookies though have none of that and more of the good stuff.

Did you know that body temperature affects weight loss? Do you know what your resting temperature is? How about 30 mins after you eat food?

Why do all these measures matter anyway?

Well turns out your body temperature and heart rate are like a little window into your metabolic system and give a good indication if it’s cranking properly or spluttering to a halt. Health professionals are using these measures along with blood work and checking a list of symptoms, to give a true picture of what’s working, what’s not and if your hormones and thyroid may be out of whack.
