Oat Bran in a Ray Peat Inspired Diet?

Ray Peat mentioned that he is trying a bit of Oat Bran recently and feeling better for it. I personally feel better minimising starches and grains. I still have 25% of my carbs as starch because I find just sugar/fruit alone doesn’t feel quite right, especially in winter.

So I bought some Oat Bran this Australian winter just to try it.

Macros. Are all macros necessary at all meals?

At the start of my Ray Peat style diet journey, everything I read at the time said to balance your macros at every meal.

So that’s all three macros – protein, fats and carbohydrates.

One reason was blood sugar balance.  The other main reason, was to make sure you were getting all your macros in for the day in the correct proportions to be beneficial.

So far so good. Logically it makes sense.

weight loss

At first I was losing weight, now it’s coming back!

I had lunch with a friend recently, who like me, has been into the whole losing weight, trying to be healthy thing for years. She had tried everything too but had been in a good place for quite a while. She believed she had found her perfect mix of exercise and eating without too much drama, and she had maintained her 20kg (40lb) weight loss for the longest time.
