I thought it was a great idea because in any kind of conversation around food and all the things I don’t eat, people always ask me, “so what do you eat?!” So here is a snapshot.

What amazes me about my whole health and weight loss journey is that while I have come along way from the overweight days and have learned so much, the universe never ceases to amaze me further with new discoveries all the time.
Usually these revelations don’t come out of the blue but they build up over time and if I don’t get the message in the early stages where the discomfort is minor, it gets to a major discomfort stage to get my attention. Think pain, hardship, embarrassment, whatever – it just gets worse until you do something about it.
I am a huge fan of Esther Hicks and the Law of Attraction mainly because it makes so much sense to me. The concept is basically ‘what you think about you bring about’ and if you are all doom and gloom, then guess what? That’s mostly what shows up in your life.
As I slowly tell people what I am up to with my book, many are curious and ask a few more questions about what the main philosophies are based around and I always reply, “the summary is… doing what works for you.”
For so long, the common message has been that there is one right way and if you are not doing it, then you are wrong. The impression given is that if you can’t do it, then you must be hopeless, useless, have no willpower, have no discipline, you are lazy etc, which is far from the truth. It’s just that the advice given doesn’t work for you.
So while chocolate is my favourite sweet treat or food or whatever you want to call it, (the fudgy type is what I love rather than cake) I can’t just make only chocolate dessert recipes forever…or can I, hmmm??? Sometimes though I feel the need to break out, discover a new flavour and try to devise a recipe that makes the creation just as amazing as chocolate is to me. Continue reading →
